NORWALK, CT — The Lake Monsters used 14 hits, 11 walks and three Norwich errors to score a season-high 12 runs, while starter Eli Fleming allowed just one hit and one run over five scoreless innings as Vermont extended its winning streak to six straight with a 12-6 victory Tuesday night at Dodd Stadium.
Vermont used the help of four walks to plate two runs in the top of the first inning on a Leandro Guevara (AIC) RBI single and Cooper Berrry (Pomona Pitzer) sacrifice fly, then added three more runs in the second with two runs scoring on errors and the other on a Masai Marshall (Northwestern) sacrifice fly.
Guevara contributed the Lake Monsters third sac fly of the game in the third for a 6-0 advantage. Meanwhile, Fleming (Stetson) was dominating on the mound allowing just a leadoff single in the second and one-out walk in the fourth over his fourth scoreless innings.

The Sea Unicorns got a leadoff triple and sacrifice fly in bottom of the seventh to stave off a 10-run mercy rule loss.
The Lake Monsters increased the lead to 12-1 in eighth on Hunter Kingsbury (Bryant) RBI single and Guevara RBI double for his third RBI of the game (8 RBI in last 3 games). Norwich scored five runs off the Vermont bullpen in the bottom of the eighth to cut deficit to six.
