BURLINGTON, VT — Vermont batters were issued 13 base on balls, including three bases loaded walks, while five Lake Monster pitchers combined to strikeout 14 Rox hitters in a 4-1 Futures League victory over Brockton Thursday night at historic Centennial Field 

The victory was the sixth straight for Vermont (14-11), all coming at Centennial after dropping the opener of the seven-game homestand to Westfield back on June 18th. 

Game was scoreless until the fourth when Jackson Sirois (Virginia) and Zander Teator (Babson) back-to-back two-out singles were followed by a hit batter and bases loaded walk to Jake Gaudreau (Bryant). 

After Brockton tied game in the fifth, Vermont retook lead in bottom of the inning on a Eric Jeon (Columbia) one-out single followed by three straight two-out walks, the final to Teator forcing home another run.. After a Gaudreau RBI double in 7th, four walks in the eight (the final one again to Teator) made the score 4-1.

Wyatt Cameron (Central Connecticut), making his fourth start in 73 career appearances for the Lake Monsters, allowed one run on four hits with one walk and six strikeouts over the first five innings to earn the victory. Sean Gamble (Minnesota State) went the final 1 ⅓ innings, which included stranding three inherited runners with an out to finish the eighth, to pick up his third save

  • Vermont bullpen tossed 4 hitless innings (final Brockton hit was leadoff single in 5th) with 8 strikeouts
  • Jeon had 2 of the Lake Monsters 6 hits, while Sirois scored 2 of the 4 runs
