BURLINGTON, VT — The Nashua Silver Knights erased a 3-0 deficit with a four-run top of the fourth inning and three more runs in the fifth in a 9-4 Futures League victory over the Vermont Lake Monsters Saturday night on Delta Dental Diamond at historic Centennial Field.

The Lake Monsters jumped out to a 3-0 lead with back-to-back RBI doubles from Shaun McMillan (St. John’s) and Hunter Kingsbury (Bryant) followed by a Leandro Guevara (AIC) RBI single off Nashua starter Andrew Chenevert, who improved to 5-0 on the season with a seven-inning outing on Saturday.

Langdon Hazen (Mt. Mansfield/Quinnipiac) came out of the bullpen with a pair of runners on in the top of the fourth and gave up a three run homer to Joey Current, who finished the game 3-for-4 and five RBI. The Silver Knights added an unearned run in the inning on a throwing error for a 4-3 lead. 

Nashua loaded the bases with no outs in the fifth before scoring two runs on a single/fielding error and an RBI fielder’s choice. Current picked up his fifth RBI of the night with a sacrifice fly in the eighth for an 8-3 Silver Knights lead before Nick Frontino (Mississippi State) hit a solo homer to left for his first Vermont home run of the season.
