BURLINGTON, VT — The Norwich Sea Unicorns scored multiple runs in five of the nine innings, including five runs in the fifth, in a 14-6 Futures League victory over the Vermont Lake Monsters Friday night on the Delta Dental Diamond at historic Centennial Field.
Along with the five-run fifth, Norwich scored two times in four different innings beginning with an Aiden Stern two-run homer in the third for a 2-1 lead. The Sea Unicorns added two in the fourth and two more in the sixth for an 11-1 advantage. Vermont scored three times in the bottom of the sixth, including an RBI double from Leonardo Guevara (AIC) and RBI single from Cooper Berry (Ponoma Pitzer).
Guevara added an RBI single single in the seventh and Masai Marshall (Northwestern), who had an RBI triple in the second and RBI groundout in the sixth, smacked a solo homer in the eighth for his first Lake Monsters home run.
