BURLINGTON, VT — Joey Gale had a two-run single in the first inning and four Vermont pitchers combined to limit Nashua to one run as the Lake Monsters won their fourth straight Futures League game with a 3-1 victory over the Silver Knights Saturday night in front of 3,826 at historic Centennial Field. 

Vermont loaded the bases in the first, including singles from Tyler Favretto (Kansas Wesleyan) and Owen McKiernan (Tufts), before Gale grounded the two-run single into leftfield for his fourth two-run base hit in the last  three games. 

Game stayed 2-0 until the sixth when Nashua scored on a hit batter, groundout and a pair of wild pitches, but the Lake Monsters got the run bak in the bottom of the inning on a Jake Gaudreau (Bryant) RBI single. 

Starter Brandon Morio (TrinityU) scattered three hits and three walks over four innings, while Zach Davis (Colchester/Bryant) tossed a1-2-3 fifth inning before allowing the run in the sixth and getting out of a bases loaded jam with a groundout. Dylan Knightley (Middlebury) retired the final six batters, three by strikeout, for his first save.
