NASHUA, NH — Leandro Guevara went 2-for-5 including a three-run homer and four Lake Monster pitchers combined to allow just two hits as the Vermont Lake Monsters earned their seventh straight win with an 8-3 Futures League victory over the Nashua Silver Knights Thursday night at Holman Field.

Leading 1-0 in the third, Shaun McMillan (St. Johns) and Hunter Kingsbury (Bryant) led off the inning with back-to-back singles before Guevara (AIC) drilled a 1-1 pitch over the fence in left-center to give the Lake Monsters a 4-0 lead. 

Kingsbury had collected the first of his three hits on the night in the first with an RBI single scoring Nolan Colby (Fairfield), who had an RBI single of his own in the sixth to score Nick Frontino (Mississippi State), who plated Guevara with a sacrifice fly in the seventh for a 7-1 advantage. 

Aidan Botti (Pomona Pitzer) and Sam Cavossa (Saint Michael’s) led off the eighth with back-to-back RBI singles for 8-1 lead. Starter Romel Roca (AIC) allowed just one hit, a leadoff  homer in the fourth inning, with three walks and four strikeouts over 4 innings, while Bryce DiPiero (Central Connecticut) and Emmet Christian (Tufts) both tossed two scoreless innings of relief.
