BURLINGTON, VT — Jimmy Evans went 3-for-4 with a two-run homer and a tiebreaking RBI single in the bottom of the seventh inning to lead the Vermont Lake Monsters to its sixth straight victory with a 3-2 win over the Westfield Starfires in Futures League action Friday night at historic Centennial Field.
Evans lined a two-out, two-run homer on a 3-1 pitch to give Vermont a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the fifth inning. It was the first home run of the season for the second-year Lake Monster from Tufts Unversity.
George Cooper (Harvard) led off bottom of seventh with infield single, stole second with one out and then scored from second base as Evans beat out a two-out grounder to the 2nd baseman, beating the throw home from first base for a 3-2 Lake Monsters advantage.

* Evans finished with 3 hits for 2nd straight game, raising average to .344 on the season
