BURLINGTON, VT — The Vermont Lake Monsters will be well represented when they host the 2023 Futures League All-Star Game Tuesday, July 25th at historic Centennial Field with eight players selected to participate, the league announced today. .
The eight Vermont players include five pitchers (Wyatt Cameron, Callen Fang, Francis Ferguson, Evan Maloney and Oliver Pudvar) along with catcher Tyler Favretto, infielder Jordan Kang and outfielder Tommy Martin.
The Lake Monster players will be a part of Team Lake (Vermont, Worcester, Norwich and Pittsfield), which will face off against Team Mountain (Brockton, Nashua, New Britain and Westfield).
One All-Star spot will be decided in a fan vote over the next couple of days with pitcher Ben Alekson the Vermont nominee among one player from each Futures League team. Click here to vote.
In addition, outfielder Colby Brouillette has been selected for the second straight year to be the Lake Monsters representative in the FCBL Home Run Derby on Monday, July 24th at Centennial. This marks the first time the derby will take place the night before the All-Star Game
Both the Home Run Derby on July 24th and All-Star Game on July 25th are scheduled to begin at 6:35pm with gates opening Monday at 5:30pm and Tuesday at 4:30pm. The All Night Boogie Band will perform a post-HR Derby concert, while on Tuesday fans can get player autographs from 4:30-5:30pm and enjoy a Fireworks show after the All-Star Game.
