BURLINGTON, VT — Norwich scored in each of the first three innings as Sea Unicorns held Vermont to two hits for the second straight game in a 4-1 Futures League victory over the Lake Monsters Sunday evening at historic Centennial Field in a game shortened to five innings by rain. The second game of the doubleheader was also cancelled and will not be made up.

Andrew Bianco had a two-run double in the first inning off of Ethan Bowen (Rutgers), while Norwich added a sacrifice fly in the second and followed a triple with an RBI groundout in the fourth for a 4-0 advantage.

Vermont had just one hit over the first four innings, a Kyle McCausland (Middlebury) single in the third. The Lake Monsters got their run in the fifth as they loaded the bases on walk, Antonio Gianni (Central Arizona) double and hit batter before a one-out Tyler Favretto (Kansas Wesleyan) sacrifice fly.

Just after Norwich got the final out of the fifth inning to make the game official, the game was stopped by rain and shortly afterwards was called to give the Sea Unicorns their second straight win over Vermont.
