BURLINGTON, VT — Joey Gale went 4-for-5 with a pair of two-run doubles and Wyatt Cameron allowed just a solo home run over his five innings of work as the Vermont Lake Monsters ran away with a 10-1 Futures League victory over the Nashua Silver Knights on Thursday night at Holman Stadium.

Nashua scored the first run of the game on a Shane McNamara leadoff home run in the fourth after Cameron (Central Connecticut) had retired the first eight and nine of the first 10 Nashua batters. The Vermont offense was just as silent over the first four innings with just a pair of two-out walks in third and an infield single in fourth.

Dylan Pacheco (Seton Hall) tied the game 1-1 in the fifth with a groundball RBI single to left before Mark Quatrani (Cornell) followed with a two-run single to right center for a 3-1 advantage. Dante Pozzi (Catholic) picked up his first hit for Vermont in the sixth with an RBI single

Gale (Saint Joseph’s) put the game out of reach with his pair of two-run doubles, the first to left center with the bases loaded in the seventh and the second to right center in the eighth after Tyler Favretto (Kansas Wesleyan) and Pacheco began the inning by being hit by pitches.
