WORCESTER, MA — Wednesday night’s Future League game between the Vermont Lake Monsters and Worcester Bravehearts was postponed by rain at Fitton Field with Worcester leading 5-4 in the top of the third inning
The Bravehearts had jumped out to a 5-0 lead with five runs in the bottom of the first inning, but the Lake Monsters scored four times in the top of the third before the game was stopped due to lightning. After about a 40-minute delay, they tried to restart the game but were again stopped by rain after just one more Vermont batter.
Vermont (23-17), winners of six straight games, will open a five-game homestand on Thursday at 6:35pm as the Lake Monsters host the New Britain Bees in the first-of a two-game series.
Next Game: Thursday, 6:35pm vs. Worcester (Military Appreciation Night)
