BURLINGTON, VT — The Lake Monsters turned an early six-run deficit into a 14-10 victory in game one and completed a sweep of a Futures League doubleheader with a 6-3 win in game two over the Nashua Silver Knights in front of 3,497 on Delta Dental Diamond at Centennial Field Sunday evening. 

Vermont scored three runs in the bottom of the first of the lidlifter, but Nashua scored five in the second (including a Mason Wilson grand slam) and four times in the third for a 9-3 advantage. Lake Monsters responded with seven runs in the bottom of the third capped off by a Brad Johnston (Swarthmore) three-run homer for a 10-9 lead.

Lake Monsters added four more runs in the fifth  including  a two-run double from James Henshon (Tufts), who earlier had an RBI single in third for a 2-hit, 3-RBI game. Brandon Rovinelli (Columbia) allowed one unearned run on three hits over the final 4 ⅔ innings to earn his first win of season.

Vermont scored two runs on four straight hits, including RBI singles from Jake Lopez (Indianapolis) and Johnston, to start the bottom of the first inning of the nightcap. Lopez added another RBI single in the second before the Lake Monsters scored three times, including RBI singles from Hunter Strohm (Mississippi State) and Zach Geertsma (Mississippi State)  in the fourth for a 6-2 lead.
