BURLINGTON, VT — Jordan Kang went 3-for-4 with four RBI, Colby Brouillette 4-for-5 with a pair of doubles and Francis Ferguson allowed one run over six innings as the Vermont Lake Monsters ran its winning streak to five straight with a 7-3 Futures League victory over the New Britain Bees Friday night at historic Centennial Field.

Vermont sent 10 batters to the plate in the first, scoring all four runs in the inning after there were two outs. A leadoff hit batter and single were followed by a pop up and groundout before Kang (Harvard) smashed a two-run double to rightcenter.

After the Kang double, Bees starter Connor Johnston walked the next four Lake Monsters including bases loaded free passes to Eric Becker (Virginia) and Antonio Gianni (Central Arizona). Kang made it 5-0 in the second inning with an RBI single to center for his third RBI.

Ferguson (Eastern Nazarene) scattered three hits over five scoreless innings before giving up a solo home run to Bryce Molinaro in the sixth inning, snapping a 16-inning scoreless streak for the left-hander. Ferguson (4-0) finished with one run on four hits, three walks and four strikeouts over six innings, lowering his ERA to 2.79 overall.

Vermont (24-8) heads out on the road for a two-game series at Norwich Saturday and Sunday, then a Fourth of July morning game at Nashua before returning home for games July 5th and 6th vs. Worcester.
