BURLINGTON, VT – The Vermont Lake Monsters are excited to announce a new multi-year partnership with Northeast Delta Dental that will now see the 119-year old Centennial Field referred to as Delta Dental Diamond at Centennial Field starting with the 2025 Futures Collegiate Baseball League season.
Centennial Field, located on the campus of the University of Vermont, opened April 17, 1906 with a UVM 10-6 victory over the University of Maine. Over the past 119 years, Centennial has hosted all levels of baseball including high school, college, semi-pro, professional and now collegiate league.
“This amazing partnership with Delta Dental will allow baseball to remain in Vermont for all fans to enjoy for many more years,” said Lake Monsters Senior VP C.J. Knudsen. “It will also allow us to maintain and continue to upgrade one of the oldest ballparks in the world, while providing next level fun for our fans. Delta Dental is a great partner and they really stepped up to the plate to support the community.”
“Town baseball has been around for over 100 years and that’s just what we are lucky enough to have here”, said Lake Monsters President & CEO Chris English. “It takes a remarkable amount of co-operation and mutual respect to get this done, so I want to thank both Northeast Delta Dental and our amazing partners at the University of Vermont.”
“We are honored to be associated with such a historic UVM landmark and to assist in preserving its legacy,” added Tom Raffio, President & CEO, Northeast Delta Dental. “Equally as important, we appreciate the opportunity to spread the message of the vital connection between oral health and overall wellbeing.”
As part of the agreement, Centennial Field will be referenced as Delta Dental Diamond at Centennial Field in all promotional materials and social media posts. In addition, a new Lake Monsters Delta Dental Diamond logo will be displayed around the ballpark.
The first game at Delta Dental Diamond at Centennial Field will be 3:05 pm Saturday, May 31st when the Lake Monsters host the Worcester Bravehearts in the first of 35 Futures League home games.
