NORWICH, CT — The Norwich Sea Unicorns snapped a 2-2 tie with four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning and went on to beat the Vermont Lake Monsters 7-2 in Futures League action Monday night at Dodd Stadium.
Vermont starter Silas Reed (Tufts) allowed two unearned runs on two hits with two walks and five strikeouts over the first five innings, but after a strikeout to open the sixth he walked the next two batters and gave up an RBI single to the last batter he faced.
Sea Unicorns added three more runs in the inning off reliever Trajan Lee (Trinity) with Reed, a third-year Lake Monster, finishing his season debut with five runs (three earned) over 5 1/3 innings.
Vermont (3-3) scored its only runs of the game in the third inning to tie the game at two on an Antonio Perrotta (Virginia) two-run homer, his first of the season.
