BURLINGTON, VT —  Preston Crowl tossed five no-hit innings and Dawson Bryce went 2-for-4 with two RBI as the Vermont Lake Monsters snapped a four-game losing streak with a 6-1 Futures League victory over the Westfield Starfires Saturday night in front of 3,693 at historic Centennial Field.

Crowl (Virginia Tech) retired 15 of the 17 Westfield batters he faced with the only baserunners he allowed coming on two-out walks in the second and fifth innings. Crown threw 36 of his 64 pitches for strikeouts, finishing with five strikeouts. 

Bryce (Merrimack) singled and later scored on an Eric Jeon (Columbia) RBI groundout in the first inning, then drove home Jackson Sirois (Virginia) with an RBI double to right-center in the fourth inning for a 3-0 advantage.

* Westfield scored an unearned run in 7th and finished with 4 hits including 9th-inning solo homer
* Christian De Risi (New Haven) allowed an unearned run on one hit with one walk and two strikeouts over 2 innings, while Zander Teator (Babson) a scoreless eighth
