BURLINGTON, VT — Bryan Richman went 3-for-4 with two walks, three runs scored and set a new Vermont Futures League record with his 103rd career hit as the Lake Monsters reached double figures for the ninth time this season and won their 12th straight home game with a 13-8 victory over the Westfield Starfires Monday night in front of a sellout crowd of 4,415 at Delta Dental Diamond at Centennial Field. 

The Lake Monsters took 5-1 lead with five runs in the bottom of the second, including RBI singles from Ryan Ruggiero (Bucknell), Brendan Walsh (Endicott), Jake Lopez (UIndianaolis) and a Zach Geertsma (Missisiipi State) RBI double. 

Lopez added a two-run single in fourth, Ruggiero an RBI single and Geertsma a bases loaded walk in the fifth for a 9-3 advantage before scoring three more runs in the seventh on a Geertsma two-run sacrifice fly to deep center (scoring Richman from third/Walsh from second) and a Brad Johnston(Swartamore) RBI double for a 12-5 edge.

Tommy Popoff (Binghamton), who threw out two Starfire runners stealing and picked another off first base, capped the Lake Monsters scoring in the eighth with a 369-foot solo home run to left field.
