BURLINGTON, VT — The Lake Monsters scored in just one inning on Tuesday night, but they made it count as Vermont sent 13 batters to the plate in an eight-run bottom of the sixth inning for an 8-2 Futures League victory over the Lowell Spinners on Delta Dental Diamond at Centennial FIeld. 

Scoreless headed to the bottom of the sixth, Vermont collected five hits, four walks and a hit batter during the frame to score the eight runs. Tyler Wiltsey (Rutgers) opened the scoring with a bases loaded walk and Tommy Popoff (Binghamton) followed with a sacrifice fly for a 2-0 advantage. 

Two batters later, Bryan Richman lined an RBI single to left and Danny O’Brien (Montclair State) followed with a two-run single to center for a 5-0 lead. The final three runs came on run-scoring wild pitches as the Lake Monsters scored eight runs in an inning for the second time this season and the first time at Centennial Field since a nine-run sixth inning July 5, 2025 vs. Westfield. 

Starter Chase Burrows (Babson) scattered seven hits over five scoreless innings with no walks and three strikeouts, while Jake Taylor (Columbia) a scoreless sixth inning to earn the victory for the FCBL regular-season champion Lake Monsters (39-15-1).
