BROCKTON, MA — Vermont’s Futures League game Friday night at Brockton was suspended by rain in the bottom of the fifth inning with the Lake Monsters and Rox tied 4-4 at Campanelli Stadium. 
 
The Rox scored three times in the bottom of the second inning for a 3-0 lead before Eduardo Diaz (Navy) cut the deficit to one with a two-run single in the third inning. After Brockton added another run in the fourth, Diaz tied the game in the fifth with a two-run double for his third and fourth RBI of the night. Diaz has now hit in four straight games, going 7-for-16 and has eight RBI in his last three games. 
 

Brockton had runners on first and second with one out in the bottom of the fifth inning before the game was halted. No official date on when the game will resume, but the Lake Monsters return to Brockton for a two-game series on the 27th and 28th.

Vermont returns to Centennial Field for a five-game homestand beginning with a two-game series against the WestField Starfires Saturday and Sunday. Saturday’s game will begin at 6:05 pm and will be followed by the first of three post-game fireworks this season.
