WORCESTER, MA — Friday’s Future League game at Fitton Field was suspended due to rain with the Vermont Lake Monsters leading 2-0 midway through the fourth inning. 

The Lake Monsters had taken 2-0 lead with single runs in the first and second innings. Game was stopped after Vermont batted in the top of the fourth. Game will resume when the Lake Monsters return to Worcester on next-to-last day of the regular-season on August 5th. 

Vermont (30-17) has two other suspended games that are scheduled to resume next week. Coming out of Tuesday’s FCBL All-Star Game at Centennial Field, the Lake Monsters head to Brockton July 27th where they will complete a suspended game from June 2nd.

In addition, Vermont will resume a suspended game vs. Nashua at Centennial Field on Saturday, July 29th at 5:05pm with the Lake Monsters leading 4-0 in the fourth inning. 

Vermont will play a pair of games this weekend at New Britain with single games Saturday (6:30pm) and Sunday (1:35pm) before the Lake Monsters host the Futures League Home Run Derby 6:35pm Monday and All-Star Game 6:35pm Tuesday at Centennial Field.
