BURLINGTON, VT — The Vermont Lake Monsters ran their winning streak to nine straight games with an 8-7 back-and-forth 10-inning victory over the Pittsfield Suns in Futures League action Tuesday night at historic Centennial Field.

Pittsfield appeared to have scored a run in the top of the 10th inning with a sacrifice fly, but the runner was called out for leaving third base early to end the frame. Jordan Kelly (Princeton) then led off the bottom of the 10th with a double to left-center and scored the winning run on a Tyler Favretto (Crowder) infield single and Pittsfield throwing error.

The Suns had taken an early 3-0 lead before Vermont rallied with a two-run third and three-run fourth for a 5-3 advantage. Pittsfield retook the lead 7-5 with a pair of runs in both the fifth and sixth innings before the Lake Monsters re-tied the game with two runs bottom seventh on Jimmy Evans (Tufts) RBI double and Ryan Marra (Brown) RBI infield single.
