BURLINGTON, VT — The Nashua Silver Knights built an 8-0 lead with five runs in the fourth and three more in the sixth, then held on for an 8-4 victory over the Vermont Lake Monsters in Futures League action Tuesday night in front of 3,727 at historic Centennial Field.

A two-out walk loaded the bases in the top of the fourth inning before the Silver Knights put together three straight hits, a pair of RBI singles sandwiched around a two-run single, for a 4-0 lead. The fifth run of the inning came across on a first-n-third double steal.

Nashua added three more runs in the sixth on a run-scoring wild pitch and Will Fosberg two-run double for the 8-0 advantage. The Lake Monsters were able to cut the lead in half in the bottom of the sixth on an Eric Becker (Virginia) two-run double, Trevor Cohen (Rutgers) RBI infield single and Antonio Perrotta (Virginia) RBI double.
