BROCKTON, MA — The Brockton Rox took advantage of 10 walks and four hit batters by Lake Monsters pitching Wednesday night for a 10-7 Futures League victory over Vermont at Campanelli Stadium.

Lake Monsters led 2-1 after an Andrew Kanellis (Vassar) two-run homer, his second of the season, in the top of the second, but the Rox scored five times in the bottom of the inning with the help of three walks, three hit batters and a DAngelo Ortiz three-run single for a 6-2 advantage.

Later Vermont cut a 7-3 deficit to one on a Brian Schuab (Trinity) two-run double and Jordan Kelly (Princeton) RBI single in top of fifth before Brockton responded with three more runs of their own bottom sixth on four hits, a walk and hit batter for 10-6 advantage.

The Lake Monsters got the go ahead run to the plate in top of ninth after loading the bases with one out on two fielding errors around a single, then scored on a Schuab walk cutting the deficit to 10-7. But Colby Brouillette (BFA/Clarkson) bounced into a 1-2 forceout at home and Jordan Kelly struckout to end the game
