PITTSFIELD, MA — The Vermont Lake Monsters scored eight times over the first four innings and held on for a 10-8 Futures League victory over the Pittsfield Suns Wednesday morning at Wahconah Park.

Vermont sent 10 batters to the plate and scored five runs in the top of the fourth inning to take an 8-2 lead. The inning was highlighted by Cooper Kelly (Kansas) RBI single, Henry Godbout (Virginia) two-run single and Jackson Kline (Kansas) RBI single.

Pittsfield chipped away at the deficit with three runs in the fifth and eighth innings to cut Vermont advantage to 9-8. After the Lake Monsters got an unearned run top ninth on a Suns error following a Logan Keller (Navy) double. George Goldstein (Middlebury), who had gotten final out of the eighth inning with the bases loaded, worked a 1-2-3 ninth for his
league-leading sixth save.
