NASHUA, NH — Vermont rallied from a 3-0 deficit, but the Nashua Silver Knights walked off with a two-out RBI single in the bottom of the ninth inning for a 5-4 victory over the Lake Monsters in Futures League action Sunday evening at Holman Stadium.

Nashua scored twice in the fourth and a run in the sixth for a 3-0 lead before Brian Schaub (Trinity) smacked a two-run homer to rightcenter for his second home run in as many days and third of the season to cut the Vermont deficit to 3-2.

After Nashua added a run in the seventh with the help of a hit batter and two walks, but Evan Clark (USC) worked out of further trouble with a 1-2-3 inning-ending double play. The Lake Monsters tied the game 4-4 in the eighth on a Schuab RBI infield single and a run-scoring balk.

Charles Crawford (Brown) picked up his first hit with Vermont as he opened the ninth with a double, but was stranded at third after a flyout, groundout and strikeout. Silver Knights opened the bottom of ninth with a single off Wyatt Cameron (NE College), then after a sacrifice bunt, walk and strikeout, Jack Toomey ended the game with an RBI single right.
