NASHUA, NH — Jack Toomey opened the bottom of the ninth inning with a walkoff home run to lead the Nashua Silver Knights to their ninth straight victory with a 4-3 Futures League win over the Vermont Lake Monsters Thursday night at Holman Stadium.

The Lake Monsters had trailed 3-0 before tying the game with a Ryan Marra (Brown) solo homer in the sixth, Cooper Kelly (Kansas) RBI infield single in the seventh and a Harrison Didawick (Virginia) RBI single in the eighth. Game remained 3-3 until Toomey smashed a 1-1 pitch from Wyatt Cameron (NE College) for his second home run of the season.

Nashua got its first run in the fourth on an infield single, pair of stolen bases and RBI groundout, then in the fifth got a pair of two-out RBI singles for a 3-0 lead off Lake Monsters starter Tim Noone (Babson), who finished with 11 strikeouts over 5 2/3 innings with one walk, three runs and six hits allowed.
