BURLINGTON, VT — Thursday night’s Futures League game between the Brockton Rox and Vermont Lake Monsters was suspended by rain in the middle of the fourth inning with Brockton leading 5-3. The nine-inning game is scheduled to resume at 5:35pm Friday and be followed by a seven-inning contest.

Fans with tickets for Thursday’s suspended game can exchange those tickets for any other upcoming Lake Monsters 2024 regular-season home game, while those with tickets for Friday’s game can use them to watch the conclusion of suspended game and Friday’s scheduled contest.  For more information, contact the Lake Monsters ticket office at (802) 655-4200 ext 1.

The Rox jumped out to a 5-3 lead on Thursday with five runs in the top of the second inning off Vermont starter Robbie Lee (Denison). The Lake Monsters got two runs back in the bottom of the second on a Zander Teator (Babson) RBI double and Jeter Polledo (Wake Forest) RBI groundout. 

Joe Marini (Catholic) cut the deficit to 5-3 in the bottom of the third with a long solo homer over the right-field billboards for his first home run of the young season.  Matt Minio (New Haven) tossed two scoreless innings, including the top of the fourth just before game was suspended.
