BURLINGTON, VT — Game one of the Futures League best-of-three semifinal series between the Vermont Lake Monsters and Worcester Bravehearts was suspended by rain and wet field conditions in the bottom of the second inning Tuesday night at historic Centennial Field.
The game will resume 6:35pm on Wednesday at Centennial Field. Fans with tickets for Tuesday’s game can use that same ticket again for entry into Wednesday’s game, while all others can purchase tickets for Wednesday’s resumption as they would any other Lake Monsters home game thru www.vermontlakemonsters.com, phone at (802) 655-4200 ext. 1 or in person at Centennial Field ticket office.
The Lake Monsters had just taken a 3-1 lead with one out in the bottom of the second inning on a bases loaded hit batter when the game was halted and the tarp was rolled out. Once the rain stopped and the tarp was removed, the infield and plate area were too wet to continue.
With the game resuming at Centennial on Wednesday, game two of the series at Worcester has been moved to Thursday and game three (if necessary) will be Friday at Centennial Field.
